ART SIZING GUIDE
This guide will help you master creating the most tasteful and pleasing proportions for your space.
The Foundation: Understanding Scale
Choosing the right size artwork for your space can transform a room from ordinary to extraordinary. The key lies in understanding the relationship between your wall space, furniture, and the artwork itself.
First thing's first, I want you to decide: what do you want this piece to do? To anchor the room? Or simply accent it?
The Golden Rules of Art Sizing:
- Aim for 60-75% of the wall width. Your artwork should take up about 2/3 of the space it lives in.
- Bigger is almost always better. Undersized art makes a room feel unfinished. Larger work creates cohesion, confidence, and presence. If you're between sizes, go up!
